According to “Poverty, money – and love”, Jessica Jackley presented her own stories and opinions about poverty. When she was six years old, she learned about poverty from Bible. It noticed that people need to do something for poor. It is our job, because Jesus asked us to do for the world. Poor always be with us. When she doing his homework, she found that first time fear to those kinds of people who always ask for help. There is no more positive for people that they are sadness, suffering, have disease and war. She feels guilty, because she did not do more: give time and money. She found out two solutions about how to deal with poverty. First, people should share resources. Second, people should open businesses for poor. People should make friends with them and know their personal stories. The best way to change is donation. She posted her friend Omalia’s photo and stories in the Internet. The purpose of that is to raise money. People should free to interact and participate in their story. She gave out a formula “Entrepreneurship = Tomorrow > Today”. People should do better than yesterday. We are not donate money to people, but also gave the love to them. Mostly importantly, we already care them.

I strongly agree with her idea about how we love people and help poor. Every year I heard a lot of heartbreaking news from TV such as earthquake, flood and storm. The reporter pointed out a huge number of deaths. And then reporter will show us how much have already rose for disaster. I am wondering how we feel about donation. Happy or think this is enough? I do not think so, because we only help then in material but not in mental. Those people really need money for food and drink. After than we should give love to them and encourage them move on. They need more attention and love. Money is not means everything to people but love does. She posted some people’ stories in the Internet for help them doing business. I think this is a good idea. She fix the problem for the root of poverty. She encourages them start the business and teach them life skills for make money.

David Gallo on life in the deep oceans

Summary
According to “On life in the Ocean”, David Gallo presented that there many species live in the deep ocean. Seventy five percent of our planet is covered by oceans. Volcano is easy to be found in the ocean. Species always face the danger of exploring. Whereas, there are many species are live beside the volcano. He told us the stories in the sea, in the water of the ocean. In the sediments and the rocks of the sea floor. It is an incredible story. When we look back in those sediments and rocks, is a record of Earth history. Everything on this planet works by cycles and rhythms. The continents move apart, they come back tighter. Glaciers come and go. We are learning almost like a symphony. You cannot listen to a five billion year-long. It is absurd. We find out where this planet’s going at all the different. Scaled and work with it. We learn to manage it.

I strongly agree with Professor David’s idea about learn almost like symphony. I am very fond of the species in the deep ocean. I have not seen those animals in the museum. Even in the science study. There were too many new units I have not seen yet. As an example is tubeworm,” each individual tubeworm consists of a soft body surrounded by a tough outer tube of whitish chitin (the same substance that makes up the shells of lobsters and crabs). This tube supports the inner body and protects it from predators (in some species, the tube is leathery, in other species, it is hard). Like plants, adult tubeworms are sessile: they are anchored to one spot, although their top end can move around in the water and can be withdrawn into the tube. Sometimes it will die in several months because of volcano explosion. It infers our life. We cannot change the history. We only go with follow. Life like this; easy to live but weak to all species.

John Wooden on true success

Summary
According to John Wooden on the success, John points out that the true success. He shared about the parent judge the way people are. He want create the new way to be a good teacher in the English class. He came up his own definition about success. When he was in the farm, his father told them should never try to be better than others. He thinks the success is that people could not do more than it like you. Do not compare someone else with yourself. John is a coach in the UCLA. He announced three rules to his term. First, do not be late. He considered time is very important to everyone. He required each teammate practice on time and leave on time. Moreover, he asks them clean room up on time in order to create a good environment for a term. Second, be professional is another rule of his term. He illustrates that when you doing thing, you should show your personality. Everyone should become profession. Last one is that do not criticize teammates. Everyone is the best in their position. People should know their capability. His job is than make people not only shoot outside, but also good inside. Although people may do not have a stronger power, they keep in a good position. This is the key of success, which do your best.

I agree with John’s opinion about the success. First, this is a good inspiriting speech for me. I want to be successful in my school, social intercourse and family. I know what I should achieve at school: the best student in my class. I think every want to be top one, too. We all know that we must study hard and learn from mistakes, but how? This is the huge problem for me. Only working harder and harder? My answer is half right. As John said that success is do not complete with others but do your best. People may not be able to do more than I can do. I think the success is depending upon your disciplines. Time is the most important factor of success. We have to do everything on time and finish on time. When we working in a group, we should encourage each other and do our best. I know it is easy to say it but hard to do it. If we keep trying and looking, do not settle. We will successful on day. Believing is the faith what we could do.

Summary
According to how to live before you die, Professor Steve presented a speech about three stories in his life. First story, he expressed his teenager hood. He dropped out of school, because he did not have any motivations to study in the school. Most major reason is that his parents wanted a girl not a boy. They tried to adopt a girl and asked the people who wanted this boy. His parents’ behavior gave rise to his thinking about the life. Although his parents wanted he study in college, he did not feel like to do it and it will cost more in college. He only interested in computer and spent all the time on investigation. He told us that believing and confident will fill in the heart. Second story called << Love and Lose>>, he described that he is a love to do person and working hard. He suffered a setback from a large company, which he fired. But he did not give up and kept seeking jobs. Finally he met his wife in the company. This is a remarkable event he will never forgotten it. He strongly believes life will hurt your faith if you settle. People should do what people like to do and love it. Last story called Death, which he was been told that he had cancer by doctor. His lives only remain about six months. He asked himself what he should in last six months, and he struggled he could die as normal people. He is an optimistic person and defeat that what the doctor told him. In fact, he has not dead after several months. He said we should prepare to die. Thus, we could limit time. In conclusion, people should live in their own life and do what loves to do. Any other thins are secondary.

I totally agree with Professor Steve about do what we love to do. I think he is a real man in the world. He suffered pain from family, job and healthy. As a college student, I am facing a same problem as him, which I do not what I am going to do in the future. I do not have any ideas about life. All different things come from society that sacred me to moving forward. Professor Steve has a good point about do what we love to do. We should trust what we believe, and never give up. The truth is that life will hurt people’s faith, but if we love to do and keeping looking, we will achieve what we want. According to my first college life, I have much homework; outside of school I attend other classes. I fell tried every day. Even though I sometimes want give up that I will feel happy. Actually not, I enjoy what I am doing. Indeed, many things I have not tried yet. There are work out, dunk and make girlfriend. As a man, if I do not have this I will depressed by myself. But I do not regret what I have done; I have a perfect management for each single day. I am doing what I could please myself, although I have not prepared to die tomorrow. As people said: life is short, do not leave any regret. Do what you love to do, keeping looking and do not settle.

Johanna Blakley: Lessons from fashion's free culture

Summary
According to “Lessons from Fashion’s Free Culture”, Johanna Blakley presented about copyrights protection. In the world there is trademark protection but no copyrights protection. Although people knew is illegal to copy others design there are no a good way to control it. Designer will take elements from somewhere and mix with their style. We will consider this is arts and new styles are also is influenced by culture. Some fashionable products are from mixture customs. The designer told to the public their inspirations were come from street. There are three points about virtues of copying: democratization of fashion, fast fashion and induced same styles. Because of that, designers forced come up some new ideas in order to make harder to let other people copying. The products have to be unique. Nowadays, digital world leads to most innovation. Fashion might be a really good place to start looking for a model for creative industries in the future.

I strongly agree with Professor Johanna’s idea about no copy protection. As we all known, Paris is the most famous city by the fashionable artistic production, especially garments. It embodies itself history and the art. Most famous brands come from Paris. In somewhere, we could find many imitations appear around us but in different brand. Therefore, we could buy many fashionable products with cheap price. That is why we have many clothing companies in the world and their change products extremely quickly. This is a tough job for designers, because there are numerous exactly same products as them. If they want keep the job, they must to create products much harder to copy and new styles. They working from the texture, make more experience product in order to protect their own rights. In my opinion, people could copy others style and mix with their own style. if clothing company wants survival leads to copy others styles, because people prefer fashion and new things. However, I think copying is not good and unfair to other companies. In conclusion, copying is not absolutely terrible way to do business. Although we consider this is plagiarism and broke the laws. If we act us like other people, we should understand our job is ensure make our company survival in what an such huge competing world. We must make money to support family. For the interaction of world, this is a way the world to investigate different culture and customs.

Ali Carr-Chellman: Gaming to re-engage boys in learning

Summary
According to “Gaming to re- engage boys in learning”, Ali Carr-Chellman reported that the problems among the boys and how to overcoming problems. There is a serious point that the boy and culture is not working well in the school, because boys like play video games and sports.
There are three reasons: zero tolerance, fewer male teachers and kindergarten is old second grade. First, they have zero tolerance. Boys like write about games, but the teacher want their write other topic such as a little moment, which they do not like it. Furthermore, the teacher thinks this is not good topic to write it. Second, only little male teachers in the school that cause most role modals are female in the school. Boys think their self are not smart and this place only for girls. The last reason that kindergarten is the old second grade. Lot of female teachers there that the boys received message do what teacher want their do: be a girl. Professor Ali gave three suggestions: design games, find more money for game design and look at teachers’ attitudes. She declared that we should let more teachers understand boys’ culture and except it. The purpose is tell students this place is for you and let them say there are smart confidently.

I strongly agree with Professor Ali’s opinions about boys. Many boys naturally like play video games and sports. Their conversations all around sports and games everyday. I may not a professional video player but I am a crazy man interested in sports, especially basketball. I like talk about NBA. Hence, I tend to write about sports. I am not good at write or describe about my life or society. Sometimes I think I am a zero tolerance student in the school. I jealous of students who have a good report card than mine. In fact, I am a good student in sports and social interaction. Unfortunately, the teacher only care about our grade and how to improve ourselves. They want us do what they required such as homework. We all follow our teacher and do not do what they allowed. If we did not obey, we will lose during class. Maybe teachers like talk about sports and games but in school their job is teaching. The boys lack of confident to study or play. In my opinion, I think the school could have some class for learning games. During the leisure time, students cloud invite teachers play with them. This could improve relationship between students and teachers. The teacher will understand boys’ culture. Let them know we can play together. We could learn from each other.
